• Royal Caribbean is my favourite all round cruise line for cruisers of all ages and interests. I find them to be an excellent balance of elegance, service, and fun.

  • There is a big difference between their smallest and oldest ships and their newest Oasis class ships! My favourite ships are the Oasis class (Oasis, Allure, Harmony and Symphony) for the entertainment and activities, but the Quantum that sails out of New York is another great option with roller skating and bumper cars. The Mariner and Independence of the Seas are great choices for families, teens, and young adults but do shorter sailings.

  • Many Royal Caribbean ships have ice skating. Skate and helmet rentals are free, but you need to remember to bring long pants and socks!

  • The entertainment on Royal Caribbean is amazing! Some ships feature Broadway shows, ice skating shows and Aquatheater shows. On the Oasis and Quantum class ships, you should reserve your free tickets in advance through your online cruise planner as soon as you have booked.

  • The food is decent but not amazing. The specialty dining restaurants are fantastic but there is an extra charge. The main dining room is free and a great option for breakfast and lunch on sea days!

  • Alcoholic beverage packages are available but range from $49 pppd to $60 pppd

  • There are a lot of choices of restaurants on board, but many of these are specialty dining with that cost extra. Their specialty restaurants are well worth it if you can afford it, but it is way cheaper to buy a package through your cruise planner before you get on board the ship!

  • The waterslides, carousel, ziplining, ice skating and rentals, surf simulator, mini golf etc. (where applicable) are all included in the cruise fare. All the shows and kids clubs for ages 3-17 (amazing programming in Royal Caribbean's kids clubs!, regular dining, coffee, tea, lemonade, and tap water, continental breakfast room service, fitness center access are free. The cupcake and sushi decorating classes, Escape room (where applicable), room service, alcoholic and regular beverages other than the included ones, spa treatments, and fitness center classes, internet access, shore excursions, and mandatory gratuities cost extra.
